The peak of the summer season is Fourth of July and hard to believe it's nearing already.Weather looks quite nice on the 10 day forecast. I'm off on the Lake Superior Circle Tour but will return for the Bayfield fireworks display. Hopefully will see a Moose again when in Northern Minnesota. Check out the Bayfield event link below:

Lone fishing boat brings in the catch
A lone fishing boat brings us the catch of the day. Sometimes we hear complaints in Bayfield County there there aren't enough jobs or the economy is more sour up north. Which is true when compared to other areas but there is no oil in Lake Superior thankfully. One can only imagine how sickening that must be in the Gulf of Mexico. So think about what really matters, clean water and fresh air. A beautiful environment that makes up for what others think they need to be happy.

Lake Level is down
The picture tells the story, sand bars forming on Bayview Beach south of Bayfield shows that the water is dropping. It rained this weekend perhaps a inch in the area but the lake needs more that only a normal winters snowfall can provide in the entire region. More beach however makes it nice for walking on the sand.

Pots of Gold?
Some rain was needed in the North land and then comes a surprise. Double rainbows. There are lakes in Northern Wisconsin that are way below their normal levels so any rain is good. Lake Superior is about six inches below average. The lack of snow in March and April contributed to that. More rain is expected later in the week.
