There are bears about! It's spring and they are very hungry after sleeping all winter. Time to fatten up. If you drive around the countryside of Bayfield you might be lucky enough to spot one. I've seen them crossing highway 13 just outside of Bayfield when going to eat one night. They are also known to come to town and raid bird feeders and trash left out. Sometimes the police chase them out of town with the squad car and a siren. One spent the winter under a front porch. The stories are endless and just another bit of entertainment in the north land.
